Corona Cup II
The loving cup has its roots in Saxon tradition — a vessel passed between people as a gesture of shared life, filled with both sweetness and bitterness. Joy and sorrow. Hope and grief. It has long been used in marriage rituals as a symbol of the life two people will build together, with all its complexity.
Corona Cup II asks what happens to those rituals when we can no longer share a cup — or a room. Made during the Covid-19 pandemic, this piece reflects on the profound disruption of the ceremonies and moments of connection that anchor our lives.
