Ukraine is a country that makes two things with extraordinary skill — pysanka, the traditional decorated Easter egg, and "hedgehogs," the welded steel anti-tank obstacles that have lined its streets since the Russian invasion of 2022.

This piece holds both in the same object. The egg is decorated in the pysanka tradition — intricate, colourful, a symbol of life and love passed between generations. Its stand is a hedgehog — angular, brutal, built to stop a tank. Together they form an image of a culture simultaneously celebrating and defending its own existence.
