They Cracked It

The second in a two-part series on women's rights, this piece responds to the overturn of Roe v. Wade in 2022 — a decision that sent shockwaves through the landscape of reproductive rights and constitutional principle.

The egg, fragile and whole, is shattered by a Supreme Court gavel. Inscribed on its surface are the signatures of the six majority justices who signed the ruling — making visible the human hands behind what can feel like an abstract institutional act. The piece asks us to consider the 14th Amendment, personal autonomy, and the fragility of rights we take for granted.

"They Cracked It" is a visual testament to the ongoing struggle for women's reproductive rights, and a reminder that even the most fundamental freedoms can be broken in the halls of justice.
